Vigilance Awareness Campaign 2026

The Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) observes Vigilance Awareness Week every year with the objective of promoting integrity, transparency and accountability in public administration and creating greater awareness about the importance of ethical conduct. It is an important participative vigilance initiative that seeks to involve citizens, organizations and institutions in the collective endeavour to prevent corruption and strengthen the foundations of good governance.

Vigilance Awareness Week provides an opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to the values of honesty, fairness, transparency and accountability. While effective systems, controls and procedures are essential for preventing corrupt practices, lasting change can be achieved only when integrity becomes an integral part of our individual and institutional conduct. Every citizen has a meaningful role in creating an ecosystem where corruption finds no place and honesty and probity are valued and encouraged.

The Week is observed every year during the week encompassing the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, whose life continues to inspire the nation through his commitment to integrity, unity and public service. During this period, various awareness programmes and preventive vigilance initiatives are undertaken to encourage stakeholders to understand their responsibilities and adopt ethical practices in their personal and professional lives.

For the year 2026, the CVC has announced the theme “सत्यनिष्ठा से समृद्धि” – “Probity for Prosperity” and Vigilance Awareness Week will be observed from 26th October to 1st November 2026. A campaign preceding the Week will also be undertaken from 17th August to 16th November 2026, with emphasis on preventive vigilance initiatives and focus areas.
