Bank of Baroda convened the 188th Meeting of the State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC), Gujarat. The meeting was held on 18th February, 2026 at Dena Laxmi Bhavan, Ashram Road, Ahmedabad, in the esteemed presence of Shri Lalit Tyagi, Chairman, SLBC Gujarat and Executive Director, Bank of Baroda; Shri Ajay Prakash, IAS, Managing Director, GLPC, Govt. of Gujarat; Shri Amresh Ranjan, Regional Director, RBI, Ahmedabad; Smt. Nidhi Sharma, General Manager, NABARD; Shri Amit Meena, Director (IF), Finance Department, Govt. of Gujarat and Shri Ashwini Kumar, Convenor SLBC Gujarat & General Manager, Bank of Baroda. Senior officials from the Government, RBI, NABARD, various banks and all Lead District Managers of the state were also present, fostering discussions on financial inclusion and economic development in Gujarat. Shri Lalit Tyagi reaffirmed the importance of collective efforts to strengthen inclusive and secure banking across the state. He mentioned that Gujarat’s banking ecosystem remains robust backed by strong credit growth and sustained priority sector momentum. Building on this momentum and in alignment with the Union Budget’s guiding “Kartavya” of accelerating growth, strengthening inclusion and building resilience, Shri Tyagi emphasised the need for sustained collaboration between banks, government agencies and regulators to drive inclusive and resilient economic progress across Gujarat. He also emphasised coordinated action, enhanced cyber security and deeper financial inclusion. Bank of Baroda organised a Salary Account Opening Camp under the Central Government Employees Salary Package (CGESP) at Udyog Bhawan, New Delhi. The camp was inaugurated by Smt. Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, participated in a panel discussion on "AI in Financial Services: From Innovation to Impact" at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, in New Delhi, sharing insights on how Artificial Intelligence is creating measurable impact across the banking ecosystem. Eminent policy makers and practitioners of AI in Financial Services participated in the panel discussion moderated by CGM, RBI.
