  • How to set my login and transaction PINs?

    Both PINs are set during activation of mobile banking after successful registration. Please follow the steps given below:

    • After successful registration, you will receive an SMS consisting of 4-digit activation key on your registered mobile number along with a link to download our app from play store or app store.
    • Download the mobile banking app and use the activation key to activate mobile banking and set your own login and transaction PINs.

  • If I do not provide you with any details to verify me being a U.S. person, what will the bank?
    • Under provisions of section 114H (8), bank will close down your account. However, the details of your account will be informed to the CBDT under the category of “Recalcitrant Accounts”.
    • But it has been decided that the financial institutions may not close the accounts by 31/08/2016 in respect of which self-certification have not been made under alternative process. The revised timelines for completing due diligence shall be notified in due course.

  • What is the meaning of the term 'Over Dues'?

    'Over Dues' mean the principal / interest/ any charges levied on the loan account which are payable, but have not been paid on or before the period stipulated as per the terms of sanction of the credit facility.

  • Can Government securities/units be freely transferred or sold?

    Yes, provided the transfers/sales are arranged through an authorised dealer. Units can, however, be repurchased directly by UTI.

  • Is collateral security is required?

    No collaterals/third-party guarantee for loans up to Rs. 100 lakhs which are covered under CGTMSE. For other accounts which are not covered under CGTMSE, the Bank may stipulate collaterals as per Bank’s guidelines.

  • Can this card be used in any country?

    Card cannot be used in India, Bhutan, and Nepal. Government, regulatory authorities, bank or VISA might restrict usage of card in certain countries. Such information is provided by the Bank, Bank’s customer support, Visa or concerned authorities.

  • Why the Bank is concerned to know whether I am a U.S. person or not?

    The Inter Governmental Agreement signed on 9/07/2015 between the U.S.A. and India made it mandatory for the banks to provide necessary information to the Indian Tax Authorities, which will then be transmitted to the U.S.A. periodically. Banks are required to provide information about the accounts held with them by the U.S persons or entities controlled by the U.S persons.

  • How to manage billers?

    The customer can choose the billers from whom he/she would like to receive the bills electronically by providing the account details. From the next billing cycle, the customer will receive bills electronically from the chosen billers, which can then be paid from any of the bank accounts of the customer registered with BOB Billpay. The customers can also modify the account details of the billers already added or delete them at any time.

  • No indicator matches with my existing account details but I am a US person. How will the Bank cover me in FATCA?
    • If no indicator matches with your existing account (accounts opened up to 30/06/2014) details, the Bank will rely upon the details submitted by you. Further, if you have not offered/submitted any updated information to bank about your tax residency/citizenship etc., the onus of its implications will remain on you.
    • In case of accounts opened on or after 01/07/2014, bank obtains the FATCA declaration (extended to CRS as well) on tax residency of the account holders. This document is a legally valid declaration and bank will rely upon information disclosed in this form.

  • What is the difference between a debit card and a credit card?

    The basic difference between a debit card and a credit card is that the debit card gives the customer access to his own money, whereas the credit card is a form of loan and allows a line of credit offered by the Bank. In the case of a debit card, there will be online debit to the customer’s account, there is no hassle of receiving bills, making payments on due dates, making payment of interest on the amount not paid, etc.

  • Are the customers eligible for compensation for delays beyond 12 working days?

    Yes. Effective from 17/07/2009, Banks shall have to pay customers Rs. 100 per day for delays beyond 12 working days. This shall have to be credited to the account of the customer without any claim being made by the customer.
